Looks like a remodel, except... I’m not sure if the right parts are getting remodeled.

An island for entertaining!

I’d be able to tolerate it if it was only on the wall and not on the island.

I’m sure it’ll look great once that wallpaper is gone and they finish the posts.

.
.
They’re not ripping down that wallpaper (and setting it on fire, preferably), are they?

New construction, paint prep stages.

Not wallpaper. That’s tile.

I’m so confused. Doesn’t painting usually happen before bringing in appliances and fixtures?

I like the tile but fuck off with the white cabinets. 90% of my guys put them in and it’s over done. Might was well add some sliding barn doors too.

Oh, no. No no no no
![]() 03/29/2018 at 18:34 |

Thats, uh, interesting...
![]() 03/29/2018 at 18:40 |

I quite like that tile actually.

LMAO, I just did all of these things. My wife HAD to have white errrthang, and the barn doors are for me, cause I hate what regular doors do to a space, and pocket doors are a liability.

I’m not judging, honest. But when I spend 40+ hours a week funding construction draws I start to see “trends”and shit gets old looking at the same kitchen every day.
![]() 03/29/2018 at 19:59 |

And folks, that’s a $10k tile job...
![]() 03/29/2018 at 20:14 |

Oh I bet. white is all the rage right now...
That a Bin pull hardware..
We worked hard to get the layout just right on our remodel, super stoked, but its a bummer still not living in the house.

...work in progress. We put white cabinets in our old house and I didn;t like it. These we painted a greyish-green. We just had the granite installed on monday. Once I finish building the fireplace cabinets I’m going to tile it with a cream or light brown subway time.
![]() 03/29/2018 at 20:31 |

the white gets brown over the stove from the grease in the steam / smoke of cooking.
![]() 03/29/2018 at 20:33 |
|
o man, who is responsible for that?
that shits worse than your tubs.

This choice of tile is inconsistent from all of their other projects. I’ll be back for more photos once the house is finished.
![]() 03/29/2018 at 20:49 |

also wtf is with the beam? they put up that nice beam and then paint it?
![]() 03/29/2018 at 20:53 |
|
It’ll either be sheetrocked and painted, or wrapped with decorative wood paneling. The hardwood floor choice is really nice, but it remains covered until final walk.
![]() 03/29/2018 at 21:19 |

the beam and column almost look like they were meant to be exposed. What did they go with for flooring?
![]() 03/29/2018 at 21:20 |

My wood-fu is weak, I’m just going to snap a photo when I come back.

That looks great! My wife wants grey cabinets when do our remodel. We have that same range too.

do you work for the bank? Are you doing inspections for the next construction loan payout?
![]() 03/29/2018 at 22:18 |
|
Heck no. I’m not important in the grand scheme of things.

Wouldn’t doubt it. I have a feeling we’ll be repainting them. But then again my wife is meticulous, so she maybe able to keep up lol.

i cant wait to get the backslash on. i need to case the posts and beams so I know where to end the tile. that was a two day effort, probably should have been 3. the paint went on with minimal prep. We used Anne Sloan chalk paint (not chalk board paint). It got 2 coats and then a coat of special wax. It came out good, but probably could have been better if we didn’t rush it, but that how it is with 3 kids.

I’ll have to check that out. We do a lot of our house work during the 2 year olds nap time. You can’t paint with a tiny drunken pirate running around behind you.
